Back to School

Here in Dallas, it's the first day of school.  However, we already have two Grandsons off to school, one to a new, private school and the other to his first year of college.

Here is Frankie dressed in his new school uniform ready to start at Bishop Dunn Catholic School.

Doesn't he look handsome?

Yesterday Rachel and I packed up Daniel to move into his dorm at The University of North Texas.
Go Mean Green!
When we got there, and luckily found decent parking, we went inside the dorm and Daniel got checked in.  Guess what?  His room was on the third floor (top floor of this dorm) and there was no elevator.  Oh, boy!
We went up to check out his room and found that his roommate had already been there and picked out his bed and unloaded his stuff.  Fortunately, this left Daniel with the bed by the window.  The room was originally configured for 3 students, but UNT only allows 2 to a room now.  This meant that they got a bigger room than usual.

Being Grandma, and having already fallen going UP the stairs, I sat in the room while Rachel, Daniel and Dalton shlepped all his stuff up three flights of stairs.  The room was almost unbearably hot - we still don't know if the A/C was on or not.  By the time everything was moved in and I had put away some of the stuff in drawers, etc, we were all dripping with sweat.

Only later did we find out that the "official" high temp yesterday was 105!  No wonder we were sweaty!
Daniel's roommate, Jeremy, showed up in a bit and we got to meet him.  It was really funny, he and Daniel were dressed nearly alike!  I think they are going to get along fine.
Once Jeremy came in, Daniel was ready to get Mom, Grandma and little Brother out of his room!  He told us he needed for us to leave so he could "feng shui" his room!

Obviously, he did some Feng Shui and his room looks more "lived in" today.

Needless to say, we are all very proud of Daniel.  He's our first grandkid to go off to college.  Only 5 more to go!
